She was well ahead of her time. Back in 2005, Delphia Yachts developed the 24 One Design, a simple and affordable trunk boat. A concept that was also taken up last year by another series-production boatyard that specialises in cruising boats: Bavaria with the B/one.
Despite its solid characteristics, the Delphia 24 OD has not yet achieved widespread popularity in Germany. This is quite different in Poland, where a separate class with a large regatta programme has been established. Perhaps this is the reason why the shipyard is now presenting its sports boat in Hamburg: to show that the design has lost none of its appeal even after eight years.
With a width of 2.5 metres and a weight of 850 kilograms, the Delphia 24 OD is completely relaxed to trailer. With a huge cockpit and a tiny cabin, designer Andrzej Skrzat has orientated himself on the established sports boat classes of Melges and J Boats, but without creating a particularly unique selling point. According to the yardstick classification (91), she is on a par with these competitors.
It could therefore be worthwhile toHall B6 at stand 146 to drop by.
